I recently started Module III and I am currently studying ICD-10. I'm looking to start taking some notes and was wondering if anyone has any good tips. I'm not sure if it would be best to add with a pencil some of the guidelines stated in my own words to various sections in the tabular so I can refer to them later.

It seems to me that might get confusing when you get to Module IV and have to follow the inpatient guidelines which may differ, since the ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes are used with both inpatient and outpatient coding. I look forward to seeing how others weigh in on this!

I do have some penciled in notes within the guidelines themselves, but I do not have anything extra written in the tabular section.
