Hi Everyone

I graduated in mid August and started job hunting Monday 31st August.   I accepted a job offer on Friday 11th Sept - it took two weeks!  It's working from home, which is exactly what I wanted, and it's a 5 month contract.  The hourly rates seems to be very good based on what I've seen on the Facebook page, Jobs for American coders.

I did call Linda after day 7 of job hunting in despair that I wasn't getting any responses from anywhere, then the very next morning the email arrived for the assessment test and the job offer the next day.

I also got  feedback about the assessment test - they were very pleased that I got quite a high mark as they had feedback that their test was possibly too difficult. My advice to all still studying and job hunting - we are so well prepared by this school - it's got a great reputation and the recruiters appear to have a lot of confidence in Andrews graduates.

I haven't yet scheduled CCS but I plan to prepare for it and sit the exam during the dark, cold Winter months - for now, I'm looking forward to getting started in the new role, and enjoying this beautiful Fall weather!

Best of luck to everyone.

Susan

Congrats, Susan!!!  That's very encouraging.  I have a ways to go, but it's motivating thanks for sharing!

Were you in healthcare previously?

Let us know how it goes.

That's wonderful--congratulations!  Did they do a phone interview or a webcam interview?  I am wondering because I hope to have the same type of job when I am done.

Hi Julie

No, it was quite simple - I did the online assessment and then got the offer via email.  Based on what I read on Jobs for American Coders, it seems to be a mixture of phone/video interviews, or online assessments or both.  I figure that if it was a full employee role, then it would be a phone/video interview.

Hi Angie

No, this is a complete career change for me.  Prior to this I was in technology.
